Ford Heiress Arrested for DUI with Son in Back Seat

Although men are generally more likely to get busted for DUI (driving under the influence), these days, the number of intoxicated female drivers have been increasing.

From mothers to actresses, to teens, several arrests and fatal crashes have turned the spotlight on women who drink and drive. The most recent female drunk driver who made the headlines is an heiress this time around – and what’s worse, when she was driving drunk, her 11-year old son was in the backseat of the vehicle.

Elena Ford, heiress to Ford Motor Company was arrested last Sunday after blowing her field sobriety exam. In the police officer’s report, Ford was so impaired that when she was asked to recite the alphabet, she reportedly blurted out “A B C D E F G A B C H I D J K L M NO P Q R S T U V X W Z”.

The officer also alleged that she couldn’t even count backward from 100 to 80.

And it’s really no surprise why she got her alphabet and numbers mixed – it was reported that she had a .14 percent blood alcohol content – which is almost more than twice the legal limit.

Driving under the influence is one of the leading causes of motor vehicle accidents and for women, even the a few drinks is enough to intoxicate them.
