Overwhelming Support for US Striker Davies

United States players and fans showed their support after pulling out a large banner with his name on it in a game against Costa Rica in a World Cup qualifying game.

The overwhelming support was brought about by Charlie Davies’ involvement in a car accident that killed one of the passengers and severed the SUV in half. Davies suffered a fractured leg and elbow, lacerated bladder and face fractures.

The crash was very devastating to not only to Davies but to the team as a whole. Davies’ condition was stable but he missed as one of team USA’s potential attackers for the World Cup.

With Davies’ injuries, having to play in the filed could take sometime. However, life must go on. As Robbie Rogers said, “There’s more to life than soccer”.
