Football Star Seriously Injured in Head-on Collision

A serious motor vehicle accident in Hawaii has put a former collegiate football star in a critical condition and injured two other people.

Colt Brennan, a California resident and the ex-quarterback of Washington Redskins was reportedly with his girlfriend, Shakti Stream of Kona when the accident occurred. Stream was driving the SUV when it crossed the highway’s center line and collided head-on with a 1996 Saab sedan.

According to the Hawaii County Police Department, both Brennan, his girlfriend, and the woman driving the Saab were seriously injured. The NCAA record-holding player was sent to the hospital with head injuries, broken ribs, and a broken left clavicle. Stream was said to have broken her collarbone while the other driver suffered leg injuries.

Brennan recently underwent a successful surgery at Queen’s Medical Center to repair his fractured left clavicle.

Injuries are devastating for any athlete’s career, especially for Brennan who was dropped from the roster of the Oakland Raiders after he was previously placed on injured reserve because of a torn hamstring and hip injury.

The injuries he suffered as a result of the car crash will doubtless place his career even more at jeopardy, despite having broken several records and achieved distinction.
