More than a year ago after the car accident that almost killed her son, the “Real Housewives of Miami” star, Alexia Echevarria, is now suing her insurance company over her inconsiderable amount of unpaid medical bills following her son’s horrific accident.

Media sources found out that Echevarria recently filed a lawsuit before the Florida court against her insurance broker, Garcia Lorenzo & Associates.

In her lawsuit, Echevarria claimed that the insurance company failed to execute her insurance policy, which caused her to incur massive medical bills following her then 13-year-old son, Francisco “Frankie” Rosello’s treatment.

Echevarria further affirmed in her lawsuit that when she signed with the said company in 2008, she asked for a special type of extra coverage – the exact coverage that would have helped prevent the costs from her son’s accident. She reiterated that the company’s negligence left it out.

It could be remembered that Echevarria’s son has been involved in a nearly fatal car accident in an early rainy morning of August, 2011. The young man was a passenger of a car that lost control, jumped the median, and crashed into a fast-approaching SUV. He underwent surgery for his severe brain injury and then went into a medically induced coma for three months. Subsequently, after the swelling of his brain has partially stopped, he spent another three months in the pediatric intensive care unit for full recovery.

Additionally, the boy’s spleen was removed. He likewise underwent pelvis surgery. Previous reports claimed that Frankie still suffered aphasia, a condition brought by his severe brain injury that limits his ability to communicate properly.

Further reports claimed that Frankie continues daily physical, occupational and speech therapy until present. Therefore, it is no longer surprising to know that his medical bills have already amounted to an enormous amount.

So far, the lawsuit is pending before a judge’s decision.

Meanwhile, a personal injury lawyer in Los Angeles reminded vehicle owners that it is very important to ensure that you have the right level of auto accident insurance. Also, make sure that you understand the coverage offered by the same as well as how to get a car insurance quote from a company, he added.
